How to Organize a Flyer Promoting Your Website

An eyecatching, informative flyer is one of the most cost efficient ways to advertise your website. Microsoft Publisher can help you create quality, professional flyers with the greatest of ease. In the header section of your flyer, place your business name. Under your business name, place your slogan. Your slogan should tell your potential customer what benefit he/she will gain in doing business with you.

Under your slogan you would insert a nice size image of your products or service your company provides. Under your images, outline other products you offer or you could use this section to give more information about your services. Next, you would create a section on the flyer that advertises why they should do business with you and dollar amounts expected for your products/service.

At the bottom of the flyer, include a brief bio on your company and a brief final thought on how you can serve their needs best. Lastly, list your company's email address and your web address.

When choosing the format of your flyer, choose the flyer with removable tabs than can be torn off. In these "tabs" you would fill in your website address. I have had the most success with "tab" flyers! Your website info can be distributed to more people this way. Find local bulletin boards at grocery stores, laundromats, and other various stores.

If you decide to create a regular flyer without tabs, consider where you would hand them out with the most foot traffic. I don't recommend placing flyers underneath peoples' windshield wipers. I get irritated when I get to my car, after an hour of shopping, and find a flyer under my windshield wipers. I look at the flyer briefly and ten times out of ten I ball it up and trash it. I find that I'm much more receptive if someone offers to hand me a flyer.

Another effective flyer are the kind you can hang on a door knob. I've purchased products from this type of flyer. If you're just starting out on a tight budget, have your flyers printed in black and white. This is a way to "get your feet wet" without being cost prohibitive. Should you notice people being receptive to you and your flyer, your next run of flyers you could consider using color. Hand out your flyers with a smile and ask people to tell their friends.
